[Our opening hours are from....]

Saw X3 with LY and Subby this evening. Pretty decent movie, and the "additional" scene at the end leaves an opening for another movie, if they decide to make one.

We met earlier and walked around a bit before the show, and saw some oddities.

Okay, this is not so much an oddity. I was thinking that it'd be pretty funny for all 3 of us to wear this shirt to the FOC (Freshman Orientation Camp). Thankfully, common sense took over from my leftover teen-sense and I decided against it.

This is the opening hours of Taka. Pretty weird, if you don't over-think it.

And these are the opening hours of HMV. Why don't they just put 10am-11pm, EVERYDAY?

[What goes around...]

I went swimming with my sister today morning. On our way back, we took the train and this chap couldn't stop staring at us. It was so obvious too, with his head pointed in one direction and his eyes in another. Even if he wanted to check my sister (or me, who knows his sexual preferences?) out, he could have been more subtle.

Anyway, it really pisses me off when someone stares at me, so I had a staring competition with him. I held his gaze and see who'd back off first. I must be the oldest "ah beng" in the world.

Anyhow, since he likes to stare at people, I guess turnabout is fair-play. Now the whole world gets to stare at him. Moving train, blurry picture, hence I didn't black out his eyes.

Now I'm off to get ready for a friend's birthday dinner. After nearly falling asleep in the deck-chair this morning, my body feels like it's on fire. Aragh....

[Do you remember....]

I took a screen capture of a Smackdown event a while back, and I forgot all about it. Here it is.

If anyone from PWT (no, not Pro-Wrestling Torch) drops by, I guess this would be a fitting/funny picture, eh?

On to other things. As you may know, Timor Leste has completed self-destructed and they've asked for international aid to restore order. Pictures of the Australian army appeared in today's papers, and they brought back a ton of memories from my army days. No, not because I was involved in some peacekeeping mission, but because they're using the same vehicle and weapons as we did.

The picture above shows the back view of the M113 APC, or IFV. Different people call it different names, and I really didn't bothered to find out which is the correct one. Maybe if Estan dropped by, he could enlighten us.

This picture shows one of the soldiers jumping down from the top of the vehicle. I've done it a million times, and every time I did it, I wonder if I'd blow my knee out. My knees were pretty weak during my time spent in the service. It might not look like much, but when you're laden down with a ton of gear, you can actually feel the impact/shock on your knees when you jump.

Now, doesn't this chap look cool? He's carrying the GPMG, one of my assigned weapons. He might look super cool there, with this huge gun and the Rambo-lookalike ammo, but in truth, cocking the weapon while standing up with the weapon in a sling would be a feat in itself. And it'd be impossible to fire his weapon, due to the lack of a forehand grip and an insane amount of recoil. Still, this is a pretty cool looking picture....It reminded me of what I did during the 28 toughest months of my life.

A couple of posts back, I mentioned that my exam results were coming out soon. I did pretty okay for the past semester, and my overall CAP has improved. I'm now back in the 2nd-upper category, although I'm at the very edge. Oh well...I guess my CAP would be hovering around the strong-2nd-lower-weak-2nd-upper point for the rest of my semesters.

More good news. NUS approved my application for financial aid. The amount I'm receiving...Let's just say that in my 24 years, I've never had this much money in my bank account. Don't get me wrong, we're not *poor* or anything. We live in a pretty decent flat, and there's always food on the table and money for the bills. We can even afford some luxuries. But the truth is, my Dad's turning 59 soon and has been out of a job for a very long time (he was retrenched when I was still in the Army), so we've been watching our expenses. The financial aid package I receive is definitely very much welcomed. And my sister (who's joining me in NUS next academic year) was also offered the same package. This takes a load off of our shoulders, money-wise anyway.

[World of their own...]

Source: McCullagh, D, "RIAA's next moves in Washington," News.com, May 25, 2006, http://news.com.com/2008-1027_3-6076669.html

Some snippets of the above article:
Q: Do your view your lawsuits, even ones where you sued a 12-year-old girl or a Boston grandmother, as a success overall and do you think the process is working?
Sherman (RIAA President): Yes. We're feeling pretty good. There will be the opportunity for business models that are consistent with P2P networks (such as demo versions or low quality). There have been a lot of conversations recently about ad-supported models.

Q: How are you going to deal with open-source programmers who release code that simply ignores a broadcast flag? I'm thinking of applications like GNU Radio.
Sherman: We've long accepted the notion that you're not going to have a pirate-proof system. The idea is to leave that to the hacking community. Most people want to get it legitimately.

Q: A few years ago, there were all sorts of proposals to ban, regulate, or otherwise restrict digital rights management. Now hundreds of millions of people happily use a DRM-equipped iTunes. Is the debate over?
Bainwol (RIAA Chairman): The world at large is not aware of DRM as an issue. Nobody feels any real problem with it.

Q: Could the DRM debate flare up again because of public missteps like Sony's rootkit-enabled CDs?
Sherman: DRM has just gotten a bad rap based on this notion that it's going to restrict consumer choice.

As far as I'm concerned, Sherman and Bainwol should either climb out from under the rock they've been living under, or pull their heads out of their asses. They're happy to "sue" little girls and grandmothers who really have no legal means to fight back and have to settle it their (RIAA's) way, yet they accept that whatever means of protection they employed will be attacked and cracked by hackers. Do they even have a point/position on the whole issue?

For them to think that the world does not think of DRM as an issue is just short-sighted thinking. DRM takes away many traditional consumer rights, but they obviously they do not think of it as an "issue" since consumers would have to pay more to enjoy what was previously a given. Fair-use and the first-sale doctrine has been thrown out the window, but they don't care because it leads more revenue for them.

DRM is not "going to" restrict consumer choice. It already has.

[Powerpuff batteries...For extra power!]

On my way home from swimming today, I went to pick up a bag of sugar for my DIY CO2 generator. I was waiting to cross the road when I saw this guy...

He's extremely skinny. That notwithstanding, his attire is just....wrong. Very wrong. He actually doesn't look that bad now, in the photo. But when I saw him up close, it was rather....weird. I mean, you could never pay me enough to wear those pants.

Met Subby and LY in the evening. Saw a rather amusing pack of batteries, endorsed by the Powerpuff Girls. When it comes to cartoon characters, I guess they are the logical choice for endorsing batteries.

My results for the past semester will be released tomorrow at 5pm. In my previous 2 semesters, I was very nervous way before the date drew near. This time round, I'm strangely relaxed. Yeah, I am a little nervous now, but I wasn't for the most part leading up to it.

I hope I see some "A"s tomorrow. I really need them to pull my average up.

[Making fun of...myself?]

I make fun of strangers all the time on my blog. Now it's time to make fun of myself.

I came across a website today that allows you to come up with your own newspaper article. Sort of like that Einstein picture that was insanely popular on blogs a while back. I couldn't think of anything funny to put on it at the time, so I bookmarked it and didn't think much of it.

I made the mistake of passing along the link to my sister. In her typical insane fashion, she came up with the article below. She used my real name, so I blanked it out. She was probably so high from her insanity that she got my age wrong in the passage.

Now, to clarify, I'm not a gas machine that farts non-stop or anything like that. The amount of gas I release is right within national average, and I'm not single-handedly responsible for tearing a hole in the ozone. Ironically, both ends of the spectrum can be found in my household. Someone who never farts and someone who does it non-stop (for the last time, not me!).

I'm off to think of ways of getting back at her.

[Comparison chart...]

I was looking for a phone for my Dad, who's still using the very old Nokia 3310. It used to be mine, and I've changed 2 phones since then. It's hard for him to buy phones, since he's using a pre-paid card and the operators charge a lot more for a phone.

He doesn't need a lot of fancy features, and I was actually hoping to find a phone that's cheap, and decent enough so that I can swap phones with him whenever I go for ICT, since you're not supposed to bring phones with cameras into military camps. How many phones come without cameras nowadays?

I thought the Nokia 6060 was a pretty good phone that could do the job. I went to my operator's online e-shop today to see how much it was, and it seems that it's no longer being sold. Too bad.

On the other hand, I found something kinda sad.

This is what the e-shop looked like. There's a red box. I've magnified it below.

Isn't this the best comparison feature ever?

[50 questions...]

Ripped this off a site I saw on BlogClicker.
  1. Last thing you burned while attempting to cook?
    My finger.

  2. Describe yourself in three words:
    Moody, broody, sarcastic.

  3. How long does it take to get ready for your day?
    About 45 minutes.

  4. Favourite place to spend $50?
What can you buy for $50?

  5. How many people have you thought were "the one"?
None. I have thought of someone in the past as "potentially the one". I don't anymore.

  6. What is something that turns you off from the opposite sex?
Immaturity, inability to hold a conversation for more than 5 minutes.

  7. What kind of car do you drive?
I don't even have a license yet. I think I'm the only guy I know of who doesn't have a license yet. I guess I'd have more drive to get that damned license if there's a car in the family.

  8. What's in your CD player right now?
I can't remember the last time I used my CD player.

  9. Which celebrity would you have coffee with?
Jessica Simpson. I want to know if she's really an air-head.

  10. Which celebrity would you NOT have coffee with?
    Tom Cruise.

  11. What kind of toothpaste do you use?
Pearly White. And no, they don't work.

  12. What time do you usually go to bed?
Depends. If it's a school day, I try to get at least 7 to 8 hours, or else I'd be falling asleep during the lectures. Otherwise, I go anytime between 1 to 3am.

  13. Last movie you watched?
I saw Rising Sun this afternoon. Old movie. I read the book. The book's better. Recently saw Underworld: Evolution as well as Derailed. Derailed killed absolute ass...I don't know why it only got a 6.1 on IMDB.com.

  14. Last TV show you watched?
The King of Queens. Kevin James gives me hope...

  15. Who is your best friend?
Friends are for the weak. Just kidding....I'm 24, I don't have a best friend. Best friends are for kids.

  16. With whom in your family do you best get along?
Dad or Sis, it's a tie.

  17. Whom do you have a crush on?
    No one right now.

  18. What time is it right now?
    9:22pm.

  19. Are you planning a vacation/travel?
    Not right now.

  20. When/Where was the last time you traveled?
I think it'd be when I was still in the Army....We went to Rockhampton in Australia in 2003 for training.

  21. How many times have you been in love?
Once. Maybe twice. I'm not sure whether I should count the first one. I was told I was mature for my age, but thinking back, I can't be *that* mature. Makes no sense, huh?

  22. How old will you be in ten years?
    34.

  23. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
    Somewhere happy. I hope.

  24. Sinful snacking weakness?
    Potato chips.

  25. Roller Coasters?
I nearly lost my breakfast when I was at Disneyworld. Wouldn't mind giving them a try again though.

  26. Ever run out of gas?
Nope. Especially after onion rings. Oh wait, you mean for the car? Yea...I mentioned earlier I don't have a car.

  27. Ever been on a train?
    Yes.

  28. Ever been on a blind date?
    I guess so. Sucked.

  29. Ever been to Europe?
    Nope.

  30. What would you do if you could be the opposite sex for one day?
Explore certain body parts, as well as their functions.

  31. Would you tell anyone it was really you?
Nope. Unless he/she/it is in the same predicament.

  32. Ever been under arrest?
Once. Not sure if it counted as an "arrest", per se. I was under-aged at that time, and I don't have a record. Does it still count?

  33. Have a crush on anyone you work with?
    Not really.

  34. What is something you believe in?
That you choose what you want to do. No one forces you to smoke, gamble, or drink. You choose to.

  35. What is something you fear?
That I'd never find my soul-mate.

  36. Big or small?
    It's all relative.

  37. What is the worst physical pain you have ever experienced?
Mmmm....I'm lucky enough to never have been to the hospital or broken any bones....So let me see. I guess it's that insanely big corn I had on my sole when I was in the Army. Gave me a lot of grief, considering how I'd step on it with every step I take. And I ran/walk/marched a lot when I was in the Army. When I finally had it removed, the doctor said it was the biggest corn he's ever seen.

  38. What is your favourite television show?
I don't have a single favourite. Right now I'm loving the King of Queens.

  39. Ever photo-shopped yourself to look better in a picture?
Nope. I look so bad that all Adobe products (except Acrobat Reader) would give an illegal operation anytime I load an image/a video of myself.

  40. Tell us something about your childhood:
It was lonely. Maybe that's why I haven't really kept in touch with lots of my friends from before. I was trained to be alone since young.

  41. What would it cost you to flash the person next to you?
Who'd pay to see me flash?

  42. Best time to catch you in a good mood?
    Not anytime soon.

  43. If you could be anything for one day, what would it be?
    Invisible.

  44. Most prized possession?
Right now, my aquarium. I put a lot of work into it. I actually lost a cardinal tetra last night. I don't know where it is. It's not in my filter, not under the driftwood, and not on my floor. Where the hell did it go?

  45. Would you ever sell it/how much?
Yes. $500. More than enough for me to start another one. But I don't think anyone would pay $500 for my aquarium. At least not anyone in the know.

  46. What is one of your pet peeves?
People with bad social manners. I've featured lots of them in the past.

  47. Favorite kind of ice cream?
    Chocolate mint.

  48. What song are you listening to right now?
POD's Booyaka 619 and Motorhead's King of Kings. Yea, I need help.

  49. If you could sucker punch one person, whom would it be?
Tazz. He thinks he's hot stuff. He's not. I hate how he picks a fight with Michael Cole every week.

  50. Would you like to tell us one of your secrets?
    Nope. Thanks for asking.

[A smile to my lips...]

I was reading the articles on Soccernet when I saw something that actually made me smile, which was rare. How often does one smile while reading football news? Yes, it's called football. You guys are the only ones in the whole world calling it soccer. You know who you are.

Drogba is actually considering quitting the English game altogether after being labelled a cheat.

First and foremost, I want to say that I've never been a Drogba fan. I was neutral till the time he made some very cocky and condescending remarks towards the other teams in the Premiership. Kid Rock said that it's not cocky if you can back it up, so I guess in the big scheme of things, he's an ass who can back things up.

It could be due to the blows to the head, since football is a contact sport, but Drogba was actually trying to come across as the victim. Hello....He *admitted* that he was trying to cheat and dove on several occasions. Now he's trying to come across as a victim?

And it seems that he would only want to move to a club involved in the Champions League. Does he think he's God's gift to football? As if there were many clubs interested in him in the first place (I realise I might have to eat these words if offers start pouring in). The only reason he's "good" is because he's in a good team, and gets a ton of service. Look at Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. It was a fearsome partnership, but after they left United, they more or less faded away in average teams which didn't give them a lot of service.

Good riddance.

[Can't think of one...]

It had to happen sooner or later. After doing this for 2 and a half years, I've finally ran out of ideas for the post title. I hope this is a temporary thing...

Went out with Cindy today, to catch up on what's going on with one another. All this time I thought she was working for Unilever, turns out it was for Broadcom. Since she needed to get a new hard disk and additional RAM, we went to SLS. I've been to SLS a lot, but I've never noticed this shop.

If you want to enter this shop, you better use some protection. If you're the shop owner (and you're reading this right now), please don't sue me for making fun of your shop's name. Here's why:
  1. It's free publicity.
  2. Seriously, when you name your shop after an infectious disease, you know you had it coming.
  3. This can't be the first time someone's pointed it out.
  4. I'm a poor student with less than S$1,000 in my bank account. I have nothing you can sue for.
Seeing how it seems to be very popular to sue people nowadays (p2pnet, Creative/Apple, the men in white...), I thought it's better to be on the safe side and explain myself before I get served.

Moving on....The last time I was at SLS was when Subby needed a new system. I took a picture of a very lonely and sad lucky draw box that day, and guess what? After 9 days, it's still empty.

I bought a new set of keyboard/mouse today. The keyboard's for me, and the mouse's for my sister. My previous keyboard was Microsoft's Internet Keyboard Pro, and I must have been using it for like....6 or 7 years? It cost me over S$80 when I bought it. I had to get it then (even though it was an insane price to pay for a keyboard) because I upgraded my entire system and totally forgot about the keyboard. The keyboard I had was one of those with an old PS/2 connector (I was told that that's also called a PS/2 connector) which was big and had a coiled wire (like the telephone). So I spent the afternoon assembling the system, and when the time came to plug in the keyboard to start the system, I couldn't because the keyboard from my previous system couldn't be used. I was so tired and somewhat pissed at that point that I just went down to the nearest Harvey Norman and bought the first keyboard I saw.

The mouse was meant for my sister, as the one she's using with her laptop was giving her some problems. I totally forgot that her laptop did not come with any PS/2 ports, so she needed a USB mouse and not a PS/2 one. Oops.....So anyway, the mouse is now sitting in my cupboard. May the day will come when I can find a use for it. No way in hell am I gonna use it instead of my current MX310. Incidentally, my MX310 cost more than the keyboard/mouse combo I bought today...Haha!

I'm actually still not used to the new keyboard yet. The keys are a little smaller, and white-on-black instead of black-on-white/beige. After staring at a bright, white screen, looking down onto a black keyboard to look for the key you need can be blinding.

One good thing though, Logitech trashed the Insert key. About time. It's only good for punking yourself out when you're using a word processor. And don't even pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about.

[Fact of the day...]

Number of moves used by Scott Steiner in his match at TNA Sacrifice: 4.

That's right, 4. Punching, kicking, clotheslines and the belly-to-belly suplex. He actually used the suplex three times in the same match.

Finally, someone with less moves in his arsenal than John Cena.

EDIT: I forgot, he did some push-ups. Make that 5 moves.

[Conversations with my insane sister...]

The time was 8:05pm. She came into my room to catch that Superband show, her friend's brothers are on it.
Me: What time does it end? (I was thinking of watching a movie.)
Sister: 8:30. But it's ok, what I want to watch will definitely be on within 25 minutes.
Me: ?

Incidentally, the show ended at 9pm.

She's reading the papers. I think she was reading the Liverpool/FA Cup article.
Sister: Hey...Ask you ah...The Liverpool goalkeeper...Ray...Ray...Ray-Na is it? Is he nice?
Me: (think it over) I can't answer that. I don't know him personally.
Sister: No what...Like that Jose Mour...Mour..Mour-ree-no guy. If I ask you, you sure say he not nice.

I decided not to get sucked into this insane exchange, so I just kept quiet.

[Are you hungry?]

For the last couple of weeks, the only good reason to catch Smackdown was to see if there were any funny signs in the audience. They have some of the worst talent I've ever seen in a wrestling ring. As if the place didn't stink enough with weekly doses of Mark Henry and Finlay, they brought in Khali. I read on a newsboard that while he was training, he actually killed his sparing partner in the ring. Nothing more came of it, I can't remember why. At the moment, he's supposed to be considered both a danger to himself as well as to his opponent, because his in-ring skills were so bad.

At least he provides the inspiration for signs like the above.

[Heartbreak for West Ham...]

About 3 hours ago, I was debating whether or not to watch the FA Cup final. I'm glad I chose to.

I was rooting for West Ham, being the underdogs against Liverpool. It was an exciting match, with some really amazing goals. Steven Gerrard's goal at 90+1 minutes was amazing, and it came during the announcement of added time. What a time to equalise.

It was sad for West Ham to lose the Cup on penalties, seeing how they were never once behind for the whole game. If you asked me, I think both teams were very evenly matched today, and West Ham did not deserve to lose, especially on penalties. Credit to Liverpool for never giving up.

Everytime the World Cup comes round, I'm involved in something that prohibits me from enjoying it.
  • 1994 - PSLE.
  • 1998 - O Levels.
  • 2002 - Basic military training. I still remember where I was when England was knocked out. I was in the sick bay, the medics' radio was loud enough. Parents' Visiting Day was the next day, and I was discharged even though I was extremely weak. I nearly fainted on my way to the pier...
  • 2006 - ICT + FOC.

[Lost in translation...]

I met Subby and ET for lunch today at Lot 1. Lot 1 was overrun by kids from every single nearby secondary school. Long John Silvers' was full of them. Before we had our lunch at LJS', we were at the food court and Subby pointed out a picture of an "obscene cactus". Well, if you don't get it, good for you, you're still clean and innocent.

Remember those 20¢ kiddie rides we had while we were growing up? Things have changed a tad since then. While we used to get our kicks from being rocked to and fro and from side to side on a silly, cartoon-looking airplane, kids of today demand a more realistic experience.

Yes, that's an LCD screen.

The airplane ride. Actually, I think it's a helicopter. Whatever.

Being bilingual, I realise that there are some ideas which simply cannot be translated from one language to another without losing it's meaning. I found some examples today. Take Desperate Housewives for example. The Chinese translation on the DVD was "疯狂主妇". It's not really easy to translate "desperate" to Chinese, since we don't really use this "concept" in Singapore. At least I don't. But there's no problems translating "疯狂" back into English. It means mad, or crazy. So what we have here is a DVD about mad/crazy housewives. Babelfish translates it as "crazy housewives".

Next up, we have the promo poster for Basic Instinct 2.

The Chinese translation of "Basic Instinct" was "第六感追缉令". I thought that meant "in chase of the sixth sense", or "an order to chase your sixth sense". Babelfish thought it was "the sixth sense seizes the command". Either way, it's lost all meaning.

On a sad note, I lost the oldest fish in my aquarium today. I've had this cory since the beginning, when I was still using a smaller tank. It's survived all the upheavals caused by my inexperience, and lived to tell the tale. It's been with me for exactly 2 years, 5 months and 10 days (I started keeping fishes on Jan 2nd, 2004). 2 and a half years...That's pretty decent for a fish.

[Sights and sounds...]

I went out today with Subby and LY. Subby wanted to get a new rig, and I thought it'd be a good opportunity for me to catch up on the latest in computer hardware. I'm pretty out of it right now, to be honest. Given the money, I wouldn't know what to get.

It was also a chance for me to buy a new printhead for my printer, as well as stock up on some CDRs and DVDRWs. I bought the printhead at Funan before heading to SLS to meet the guys, and when I was in the toilet, I saw the coolest sink ever.

This proves it. I need to get out more.

Saw a box where people could drop their coupons for a lucky draw in Fuwell. This has got to be the saddest lucky draw contest ever. Zero entries. And we were there the whole afternoon. Because Subby couldn't figure out which LCD to get. What a nice problem to have. When I bought mine, I didn't have much trouble choosing. I could only afford the cheapest.

Went to Subby's house to help out a bit with the setting up of his new rig. On my way home, I saw a small crowd of people gathered at the storm drain. I also heard a dog barking. As it turns out, there was a dog in the drain, and someone (maybe his owner) was trying to get it out. The dog didn't feel like budging though.

I couldn't see clearly, but I think the dog might be injured. It was sitting in a weird position. Might be a crippled dog, I couldn't see it's hind legs at all because it was below water level. Poor thing.

Subby: Lots of mosquitoes at your place?

[Oppression...]

This is really none of my business, per se, but it really ticks me off and I would like to comment about it.

I have this friend...She's 23 or 24, I can't remember. First off, I want to say that we don't exactly get along great. We had our differences when we worked together this past semester, and given a choice I probably won't want to work with her again (for the sake of my sanity).

During the semester, she asked me if there were any way she could bypass the router settings in her home, so that she could access sites her brother blocked. Yes, she's 24, and her older brother's preventing her from accessing websites. If she was 10 years younger, I'd understand. Her brother blocked her access to "gaming" sites (read: Neopets, among others...) so that she could "concentrate" on her studies during the semester.

I find the whole idea ridiculous, I mean she's an adult, for crying out loud. So did everyone else in our project group when she brought up the "bypassing the router" issue. I told her about anonymous proxies, how she could "access a website within another website". It worked for a while, until her brother told her that he'd block every single anonymous proxy site she used, as she used them.

Although I was pretty shocked that her brother treated her that way, I didn't think much else of it again. She did tell me before that her brother gets special treatment from her parents. Her sisters and herself have chores to do, while he didn't. From what I could tell, her parents still had the mentality that a woman's place is in the home.

Today she asked me about the anonymous proxies again. She told me that her brother's still blocking those sites. I asked her why, since the semester is over and it's the holidays. She told me her brother's reason now is that going to those sites invites viruses into their network. Okay, seriously, what the fuck? That statement is so wrong and so ignorant that I don't even know where to start ripping him up from.

Someone should tell the people in her family that this is the year 2006, not 1906.

She's 24 years old, not 14.

[My planted tank....]

Ever since I started keeping fish in January 2004, I've been reading up and doing research regarding what is needed for a planted tank. When I first started out, I made some mistakes, and eventually settled on a tank without gravel because it's cleaner. The first type of gravel I used was a mistake, because it was big and food would get stuck in it, encouraging algae growth and the water actually turned green from the floating algae.

On May 1st, I finally converted my tank to a planted tank. I've done enough research, and was confident that I knew what to do. I took a video of the tank, you can see it below if you wish.

Instead of using a canister filter like most planted tank owners, I used an internal filter. It's cheaper, and for a 2-feet (about 55-60 litres) tank I think it's good enough. I had wanted to get the Fluval 2-Plus, but I couldn't find it so I got the 3-Plus instead. I had to adjust the water flow to the lowest setting, or else there would be a hurricane in my tank. Not to mention all the plants being uprooted.

And instead of getting bottled CO2, I bought the Nutrafin Natural CO2 system. It costs $24, pretty expensive if you consider that all you really get is the bottle, CO2 flipper and the silicon tubing. The yeast they provided was expired, and could not generate any CO2. I added in yeast that I bought myself, and it worked like a charm. Total cost of conversion was about S$80, pretty cheap if you consider that a decent canister filter would cost over S$100.

So far so good. I didn't lose any fishes in the process, although my red cherry shrimp population took a big hit. I had probably about 30-40 (possibly even 50) shrimps (they reproduce like crazy), and I have less than 10 now. Before today, they don't seem to be eating at all. I was resigned to losing them all, until today I finally saw one of them eating. That's great. As long as I have a pair of male and female shrimps, I'm sure their population would grow again, seeing how they lay eggs and reproduce very quickly.

Anyhow, my exams are over, and holidays have began. I haven't really any plans this holiday, except for my ICT and the FOC camp. I'd probably spend most of my free time training and would try to pass my IPPT before ICT. In which case, I may not post as much as before, since nothing much happens when you're bumming around.

[Backlash 2006]

I used to think that Hogan's legdrop was the most ridiculous finishing move I've ever seen. I don't anymore.

This guy below (I couldn't even be bothered to learn his name) used a thumb to the throat. Seriously, what the hell?

Ever seen a dislocated shoulder? Trish dislocated her right shoulder. That's how it looks like.

Man, can he bled. Shawn Michaels can't seem to bleed anymore. His blood stops pretty quickly. Triple H's just keeps pouring out.
