[It's official...]

Got the enrolment package from NUS yesterday. Looks like I'm all set to be enrolled in Jan next year.

Lots of stuff to go through in the package....Can feel my brain getting bigger.

[Not again...]

When I was in the Army, foot rot was the norm. Everyone had it at one time or another. Those who cared, would apply medicine as soon as the first signs come out, and all would be fine. Those who didn't cared, could well have bloodied feet as the fungus got worse and worse.

For the 2 years 4 months I was in uniform, I had foot rot quite a couple of times. Most of the times, I caught it in time and it went away after I applied the medicine. I never thought I'd have to use the medicine anymore now that I'm out of uniform. Guess not....One month of working and the foot rot came back, thanks to the lousy pair of shoes I have to wear that made my feet sweat like nobody's business.

[Down and out...]

Yes, I've noticed the dead Tag-Board. Not too sure what's happened. Wait and see...

[New arrivals...]

Another batch of guppy fries today. There was this female which looked like she was about to give birth last night. I separated her last night, and this morning, there were no babies. But when I got home from work, my mother was transferring the fries to the nursery tank for me. I estimated there to be about 30 fries.

[Trashy TV....]

Was watching the Man U - Newcastle match on TV just now, and I switched over to AXN for a while. AXN was showing one of those police videos show....And there was this officer who was having trouble controlling a suspect when a pair of civil-minded twins came over to help out.

Next scene, the twins were being interviewed. They were like...40 years old thereabouts? The subtitle as one of them spoke was "fan of Mary-Kate Olsen". When the other spoke, the subtitle was "likes Ashley Olsen better".

That's just creepy....I mean don't get me wrong, I love the Olsen twins. But for a couple of 40 year old men? EEeeeeewwwwwwwwww....

[Pain...Just a 4-lettered word...]

Took half day leave on Friday, had food poisoning. Still not completely recovered yet. Aragh...I hate food poisoning.

[Random thoughts...]

Went to Plaza just now. There were some umbrellas on sale....Funny thing, they claim to be able to "block" UV rays. Hahaha....

Went to eat at the food court. A rather rude woman took a chair from our table without asking. Granted, there's no one on the chair (duhz) and it wasn't reserved for anyone. But she still should have asked before taking it. How could she assume that the seat belonged to no one?

Saw Choy at NTUC, working as a stock boy. He was an armourer from my unit, and he ORDed one day before me. He made life difficult for all the armskote personnel, and I must say, it's real gratifying to see him working as a lowly stock boy.

[Life...]

One thing I learnt while in the SAF was to be ready for anything. Maybe not so much being "ready", per se, but not to be too surprised. Nobody thought we would ever get activated when we were on standby, but we were. Nobody thought we would ever be involved in a real operation, but we were. And just when I needed it the most, NS was reduced by 2 months.

It's been almost 5 months since that annoucement was made. And till this day, I'm still feeling the ripples. Just 3 days ago, I'd have gotten my 3rd stripe if I were still in service.

Then this morning, another ripple hit me. Maybe more than a ripple. A wave.

I saw the letter on my keyboard. The very one I'm using now to type this. It's a letter from NUS, asking me if I'd like to matriculate this coming January, instead of waiting till August.

This, of course, throws my plans out of whack. I has intended to work till July, go for Lasik with the money I made, and then support myself through Uni with the money leftover. Looks like that's out of the window now. Looks like I get to save some time...But lose some freedom and leverage when it comes to the moolah.

Life's a funny thing.
