[Firefox issues...]
I've received feedback that my blog doesn't show up quite right on Mozilla Firefox. I checked it out, and it seems that it was because Firefox doesn't support CSS very well. Most of the layout of my blog is done using CSS. The opacity of the frame on the right is gone, and the layout position of both frames are slightly off. I'm not all that surprised by this, but what really caught me off guard was that Firefox was not able to interpret the table row alignment tag properly.
This is a bit of a problem, because most of the people who arrived at my blog from BlogExplosion are actually using Firefox. I'd admit that I did not expect more people to use Firefox than IE. For now, I don't think I'll be doing much to fix the problems....Because I don't have time, exams are around the corner and it would be a rather big project if you ask me.

[Woe is me...]
My computer has been giving me problems lately. Actually just one problem, but it's a bloody big problem. It keeps restarting by itself. And we're not talking about graceful shutdown/restart here. It goes *poof*, like when the reset button is pressed.
I suspect that the problem lies with the PSU. Looks like it's gonna be another trip to SLS...

[Comments on!]
I've turned on comments for all my posts. Ok, so no more Tag-Board, but if you want, you can leave comments. More or less the same thing.
Took me a while to figure out the whole comments thing because when I first started blogging, the comments feature did not exist. So the template I first downloaded did not have any of the comment tags. Had to look for the tags myself in Blogger Help and include them into my template. Phew....

[The sun, the sand, and the sea...]
My sister got a ton of recruitment letters from the Navy and Air Force recently. This came in the mail a couple of days ago.
The Navy is really sparing no expense in their campaign to attract the best talent. This is an actual Cathay Cineplex ticket. But of course the things printed on it are not. Still, it's pretty cool.
The one before this, they actually sent my sister a (pretty thick) book. The pages inside were all empty, but the cover came printed with her name as if she was the author. Basically they were trying to send the idea across that if she joined the Navy, she would be able to fill the book with stories of her "adventures". If you didn't closely examine the book, you would have thought that it was actually a real book, written by a real author.

[Girls and sports don't mix...]
I watched Manchester United play one of their worst games ever last night against Boro. It's like watching an S-League team play. Lost 4-1, conceded the first goal in the 2nd minute.
My sister was watching the game with me. In the past, she's come up with some really silly suggestions to change the game, and last night was no different. After seeing the managers on the sidelines shouting instructions to the players, she came up with another brilliant plan....That the job of the manager when the game was in progress was to sneak another player, the 12th player, onto the field. Have him warm up by the sidelines, then jog outside the area of play. After a while, jog on the line, and when the officials aren't looking, sneak onto the field and pretend that he's been in the game this whole time.
If this wasn't enough....She went on to suggest sneaking a remote-controlled ball onto the pitch instead of the regular ball. Then the manager could sit on the sidelines and control the game, for real. I was like...How the hell are you going to remotely control the ball? The laws of physics does not really allow a ball to move on it's own in directions you choose without actually touching the ball. She went on to suggest making a ball that would sprout wings in mid-flight so that direction could be controlled, and the wings would retract once the ball hits the ground.
Yes, this is what I have to deal with, on a daily basis. Yes, I live longer because I laugh more.
On another topic, I applied to AlternateURL to have ads shown on my Adsense when Google could not find appropriate ads for me. Adsense actually does not work very well on my blog, because it's strength was in finding ads that match the theme of the page it's on. My blog has no clear theme...Every post is different. When no ads can be matched to my blog, a Public Service Announcement is shown. AlternateURL provides ads when a PSA is shown.
Anyway, I was turned down by AlternateURL, and this was the email they sent:
Thank you for your application to the AlternateURL program.
We have reviewed your site: http://locksleychang.blogspot.com/
Unfortunately, we cannot accept your site into the network for one or more reasons. These include: - Low traffic - Foreign Content - Adult Content - Warez - http://www.alternateurl.com/terms.php
We regret that we cannot include your site at this time. Please feel free to register other sites, or resubmit your site for review at a later date. Thank you.
The AlternateURL Team Geez...How would they know the traffic status of my blog? Foreign content? Since when is English foreign? Best of all....I seem to have adult content. If I have adult content, then my traffic would not be low. And I can't believe they managed to find warez on my blog...I mean seriously, WTF!?

[Keys to my heart...]
You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.
Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted. |
Saw this on another blog I stumbled upon. Took it, and to be honest, quite surprised with the results. Not because it's accurate, but because the questions asked were quite irrelevant. Anyway some of the results are right on the money, but some were way off. Most are accurate though.

[When we work together, it's much better...]
I cut my nails usually at the balcony, and sometimes ants rush in while I was cutting and carry away my old nails. Used to happen all the time, hasn't happened in a while.
I was cutting my nails just now when I saw the ants were back! I took some pictures of them carrying away my nails. I wonder what do they do with my nails.

[Wouldn't you know it?]
Was working on my Comp Security project yesterday in the lab when we got stuck at a problem. In all fairness, we wouldn't be where we were for the project if not for one of my friends, so all credit to him for getting us this far. Anyway, when you're stuck and don't know how to go on, your mind wanders.
Take for instance, this cup of coffee. And look at the pink carrier. I'm convinced that whoever designed the carrier used to be a underwear designer. Let me tell you why....
The pink carrier, in all it's glory.
The carrier, without the cup. The cup's feeling naked.
One last look at the carrier. Okay okay, we're getting to the good part.
Flatten the carrier down. Doesn't it look like the carrier's giving you the finger? :)
Ta-dah! Flip the finger upside-down and there you have it. The world's first and only jock-strap designed for extremely tall and skinny people.

I added a countdown ticker today. Same place I got the local time ticker from. I've always been fascinated by time. There's so little, yet so much of it.
The countdown ticker will count down to the next "big" event of my life. As of right now, that would be my exams next month.
Tick tock.

[Insane lighter...]
I found a lighter yesterday on the ISB in NUS. I tried it out on the bus, and found it working, so I put it into my bag's side pocket and forgot all about it. I just remembered it a little while ago, so I took it, and just for the heck of it, pushed it's setting up to the highest flame and flicked it on.
Holy shit! Yes, that's how big the flame was. I don't know if this is normal, I'm not a smoker. But this is the biggest flame I've ever seen from a 50-cent (?) lighter. In fact, the flame was even higher the first time I tried it. By the time I took the photo, I've used up a fair bit of the fuel so the flame is not as strong.
Can you imagine what would happen if some poor guy had it on the highest setting and then flicked it on to light his cigarette? No eyebrows for 6 months!
You can get a video of it here. Won't be available forever, get it while you can! :) You can see in the video that even after I've released the lighter, there was still a small flame.

[More adventures on public transport...]
You get to see all sorts of people on public transport. The good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. Unfortunately, it's usually the bad and ugly that make it to my blog.
The picture above was taken on the bus on my way to school today. The red arrows are pointing at the lead actor and actress. The man on the right (with the waist pouch) was actually walking with a crutch, but you can't see it because he's holding it on his right side. He hobbled onto the bus, and no one offered him a seat. You think that's bad? Guess what...The woman on the left seated on the outer seat has her stuff on the window seat. Such people really piss me off. I mean, if there wasn't anyone standing at all on the bus, fine, go ahead and lay claim to the seat next to you, start nesting for all I care. But in a situation as shown above, it's just...Uncivilized.
Ok...This dude. I sat next to him. Nothing wrong with him really, except that his breath stinks. He wasn't even talking to me, just on his handphone and already I was exposed to his brand of aromatherapy. Talk about a piledriver up your nose...
This woman above, was captured on my way back from school. Her crime? Fare cheat. Yeaps. She got on the bus at Hillview, and sat next to me. She reached out and tapped her card at the next bus stop. She alighted in Bukit Panjang, one stop before me. Yes, she's a fare cheat. And no, she's not using a senior citizen's farecard where they would enjoy a flat rate anyway at that time of the day. Her card beeped once, so it's a normal card. Concession cards beep twice. I know, because I'm using one.
Oh, and she *really* needed to take a shower.

[*mumble* *mumble*]
I was walking along the halls today, minding my own business when I heard someone mumbling behind me. I turned around and I saw this guy (who's already walked past me when I took the picture) talking to himself. This is what too much studying does to you. You go nuts.
Took this picture during my Film & History lecture. The lecture hasn't started yet, and this guy in front of me is enjoying his Yong Tau Hoo. The rules, as far as I know, is that you cannot eat or drink in lecture theatres other than plain water. The furthest most people go to is to bring in finger food, which is common in this module since we watch a movie every week. But this guy is really pushing it if you ask me. Another girl a few rows away was having pasta.
Tsk tsk....
Something cool happened during the lecture though...The lecturer was talking about racial issues (the movie we're watching was about racial issues) in Washington DC, and mentioned James Patterson's books. That's pretty cool....I never knew anyone who read James Patterson's books other than myself.

[Gut-check time...]
Most of my friends in NUS have cleared most if not all of their projects. They are taking a breather before starting to mug for exams. Me, on the other hand, still have a ton of deadlines to meet. My last deadline is actually on the first day of the reading week. That really sucks.
On a separate topic, I've been looking around at a few alternatives to the Tag-Board. Unfortunately, all those I've looked at did not allow me to re-arrange the elements on the board. Most boards are designed to be vertical, but I want a horizontal board. Tag-Board allowed me to re-arrange the elements, but all the others I've looked at so far only provided a PHP link in the code, which means the main chunk of code is actually stored on the server side, which I cannot configure. :(

[Taking stock...]
I was flipping through my organiser earlier, to see what are the things I need to do this weekend. I think it's safe to say that it's my most action-packed weekend ever...
- Consolidate CS3255 project report & prepare PPT slides.
- Come up with CS3235 client program UI code.
- Write a 2000-word essay for my GEM.
- MNO1001 Teamwork Analysis.
- MKT1003 Peer Review.
- MkT1003 tutorial & MNO1001 one-pager.
- Study for CS3235 quiz.
It's 4pm now, and I got a SMS asking me to go out. Aragh....How I wish I had some flunky to do all the work for me....I NEED TO TAKE A BREAK!!!
And Man United had better win tonight......

[The meaning of life...]
Yes, it's officially Saturday. But in my head, it's still Friday night. Learnt an important lesson today, but let's start at the beginning...
This morning I sprayed hair-spray into my eye. Ouch...That really stung. I won't go into the details of how it happened, but my eye did turn really red. Good thing I wasn't wearing my contacts at the time. By the time I reached school, the redness was gone and my eye was as good as new.
The project today was a nightmare. While we did solve one "big" problem (which in retrospect was not *that* big), roadblocks keep popping up throughout the day. By the end of the day, I was tired, agaited, and somewhat pissed (although that's regarding a whole other issue).
So I dragged my weary ass home from school at about 9pm. Reached home at 9:30+, and that's when it happened.
I realised that family was the only thing that mattered. I've always knew that, but this evening I had a reminder. Some people are friends with you only because of what you can do for them. But family is where you can find people who would accept you for who you were, no strings attached. No family is perfect, and neither is mine. But heck, if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing (mainly because I really *can't* do it all over again).
In the words of Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino) from The Godfather, "Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever."

[It has began...]
Came home after school today to find my guppy in the middle of giving birth. As can be seen above, most of them didn't make it. Some of them haven't even "hatched" yet, and were still in "egg" form. You could see their eyes though.
These are some that survived. One of them's actually a pair of conjoined twins. That's the one next to the circular thingy....It's actually 2 guppies, fused together at the belly. I've had such fries before in the past, they couldn't survive because they can't swim to "catch" the food in their mouths. When they swim, they look like an airplane in trouble at an airshow...Spinning like crazy, out of control.
Here's the same guppy...Notice the belly? Much smaller now. She's still not done though. If you see carefully, you can spot a cluster of fries in her belly. The greyish part is actually the fry's eyes.
And yes, I know the photos suck. I actually took them with my Nikon 5600, not my handphone. It's not easy taking fish photos. They would look a lot better if it was daylight, because the table lamp on my er...table...is totally screwing up the Nikon's macro focusing. I couldn't take the photo without the table lamp on because there's not enough light for the Nikon to focus to begin with.
So the moral of thy story:
- My guppy is giving birth. Right now.
- Taking fish photos is hard. :(

[More on the way...]
By all accounts, this guppy is going to give birth soon. I've taken it out of the main tank and put it in a...Well, I don't know what you call it. Basically when the fries pop out, they drop down a "drain" into the bottom. Unless they swim back up through the drain, the mother guppy won't be able to munch on them.
All the signs point towards this guppy giving birth soon...Huge stomach, with some other signs that I don't want to describe (will take forever). She was exhibiting the same signs last week, but didn't give birth after 2 days in the special tank.
Give birth now dammit.....

[Bells of Freedom - Bon Jovi]
I have walked all alone On these streets, I call home Streets of hope, streets of fear Through the sidewalk cracks Time disappears
I was lost, on my knees Only Eve hugged a field As I choked back the tears There's a silent scream, no one could hear So far away from everything, you know it's true Something inside that makes you know what you've got to do
Ring the bells, ring them loud Let them ring here and now Just reach out And ring the bells of freedom
When your world's crashing down Like you've lost every round Stand your ground And ring the bells of freedom
Up the steps of the church Through the fields in the dirt In the dark I have seen That the sun still shines for the one who believed So far away, so full of doubt, you needed proof Just close your eyes, and hear the sound inside of you

[I'm really glad...]
...that pajamas come with pockets. Now I no longer have to hold stuff when I sleep.
I was making pancakes the other day when a fly flew in. That's when I realised a spatula looked a lot like a fly swatter. And a crushed fly is a lot like a blueberry. And a roommate is a lot like a fly-eater.
I think it's interesting that cologne rhymes with alone.
If I need to go up a building, I choose the elevator instead of the escalator. Cause this one time I took the escalator, I tripped and fell down the stairs for an hour and a half.
I think "Employee of the Month" is a good way for someone to be both a winner and a loser at the same time.
To me, swimming is a confusing sport. Because sometimes you do it for fun, and other times you do it to not die. And sometimes when I'm swimming, I don't know which one it is. I gotta go by the outfit. Pants? Uh-oh. Bathing suit? Okay. Naked? We'll see....Should I be swimming faster, or am I getting laid?
I wanna make a jigsaw puzzle that's 40,000 pieces. When you're done, it reads "GO OUTSIDE".

[Beware of hair lice...]
Took this picture this morning, on the Internal Shuttle Bus in NUS. There are two things wrong with this notice.
First, it was pasted on the window of the second to last seat at the back of the bus. WTF...We're at the end of the bus, where do you want people to move to? Second, why can't we rest our heads on the window? For this I can think of no good reason really. Anyway it's not clear in the picture, but someone added a line below that which said "Because some people do not wash their hair."
Haha.

[One good grade...]
I took Film & History as my GEM this semester. In this module, we watch movies and then write an essay about the issues raised in/about the movie. The questions are usually never straightforward, and requires some further understanding.
We've written 3 essays so far. For my first and second essays, I got a 60% grade (most ppl end up here) for them both. Today we got back our third essay. I got a 75% grade for it, which was amazing, since only 2% of the cohort (9 students out of 459) got this score. Granted, 4% of the cohort (17 students) got a 80% grade, so 75% is not really anything to crow about.
Still, it was a good grade for me.
Hee hee.... :)

[The end is near...]
As it turns out, I was right. My guppy really did have dropsy. It's caused by bacterial in the fish's stomach. The fish's stomach will swell until all the scales protrude out from the fish's body. It can be seen in the photo above that the scales are already starting to protrude. By this stage, there is no cure. The fish would most likely die. In fact, even if diagnosed early, it's also difficult to save the fish. I think I must have lost like....50 guppies to dropsy thus far. It's pretty scary to see a fish with all it's scales protruding, believe me. The guppy above has scales protruding only from it's stomach area. In the final stage, ALL the scales will protrude. That's just scary.

[Reflections...]
At home on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Lots of work to be done, no mood to start. Feel like I'm floating around in limbo. Burnt out, in more ways than one. Nothing's going right for me right now. When will my day finally come?
My fish is sick, oh yes it is. Look at it's stomach, it's just not right. Looks like dropsy, but I could be wrong. I've added medicine, we'll see how it goes. If all else fails, down the toilet bowl you go. Rest in peace, my scaly friend.

[Welcome to my life...]
My head's throbbing like crazy as I type this. The headache started at around 4pm...Been feeling it ever since. Have a sore throat as well... *cough* *cough*
On my way to school today, I had the pleasure of standing next to 4 girls with too much energy. If anyone's looking for a reason to send girls to NS, they should take a look at them. They were squealing, gossiping, and laughing. I'm not a morning person, so having to stand next to 4 overly-excited girls in the morning really pissed me off. How I wished they would just STFU.
Reached school, went for my first lecture. I have a cousin in the same module as me, but I've never seen her in the lecture. Today, she came over to talk to me after the lecture ended. Apparently this was the first time she attended the lecture....LOL.
Went to do my Comp Security project after lunch. Spent most of the day trying to connect the damn card reader to the system. It's kinda complicated...But let's just say this project is going to kill me. It's gonna be a lot of work, for a very little percentage of the marks.
On my way home, I met the 4 girls AGAIN! I had thought in the morning that maybe they took the bus to HarbourFront and then went to Sentosa. Judging by the time they're making their trip home, I think I was right. This time, they were sitting in the last row of the bus, but they were still in the same mood as they were this morning -- Full of energy (and gossip). Seriously, I always knew that girls talked....But I never figured they bitched. Listening to them talk, it seems like they were living in a soap opera. They have too much energy and too much time on their hands if you ask me.

[What's that about?]
China sent 2 guys into space today. I'm not real big or knowledgeable about this subject or anything....But I've thus far heard one radio and seen two television reports about the event. One of the television reports was about how they blasted off into space, not before one of the astronauts screamed bloody murder about something before being blasted off.
The other two reports were about the advancements in pre-packaged food for the astronauts, about how delicious and convenient the food was.
Isn't it weird that there were more reports about the food they're bringing into space than what they're actually going to do in space?
Something to think about...

[Oops...I did it again...]
Remember recently I had posted a very angry entry about this girl whom I had to work with on one of my modules? That was just the first project...The second one is due tomorrow. And yes, she's decided to fuck things up once more.
I spent the afternoon in school, working on another project. When I got home, after having dinner and stuff, I started working on my presentation for tomorrow. I did not present the first time round, so I had to this time. I looked through the PowerPoint slides, and thought of what to say. After which, I went to our IVLE community to download the latest copy of the report to see if I've missed anything out.
The latest copy was uploaded by her (big surprise). The one before that was uploaded by my other group member. I opened her's, since it was the latest, and I got a rude shock.
I don't know that the fuck she did to the formatting, but our reference superscripts were all out of whack. Reference point 6 came after 10, at a sentence that had no meaning whatsoever. It's hard to describe, but basically someone had to read through the whole report again to repair all the reference points. Guess who? .......
But that's not the worst part. The worst part was that she's decided to change some of the stuff I wrote. I wrote:
Traditionally when a potential customer wants to buy a car, he walks into the car showroom and gets entertained (read: confused) by the salesperson. He would be able to see the car model he's interested in, but he's unable to see it the way he wants to, with customized paint job, seats, etc. In essence, he's putting money down for something he has yet to really see...
She changed it to:
Traditionally when a potential customer wants to buy a car, he walks into the car showroom and will be served by the sale engineer. He will get to see the car model he is interested in, but he is unable to see it the way he wants to personally customized paint job, seats and etc. In essence, he is putting money down for something he has yet to really see the final product. From BMW international website, www.BMWusa.com, there is customization sevice that allows potential customers to pick out the colors of the car's paint job as well as other accessories that they like. At the same time, the website keeps track of the costs of all the extras. This allows consumers to budget for the accessories they want, as well as see and not imagine how the car could actually look like.
Ok, can someone tell me what the fuck is a "sale engineer"? Just because you're an engineer (yes, she's in Engineering) doesn't give you the right to rename everyone else's job title. The rest of the bolded sentences, I honestly don't know how to poke fun of them...They've done the job themselves. It's like reading something written by a child.
Next up...She added this:
This is a marketing strategy that hopes to draw branding awareness among gamers. These brands may come across to the gamers' mind when they feel hungry because it may have unconsciously planted the brand into the users' back of brain.
God help me...Make up your fucking mind...Do you want to use "gamers" or "users". And you want to "unconsciously" plant a brand? Wow...That'd be new. And who the hell uses "back of brain"?
I don't claim to be Mr. Webster or anything....But seriously, your English sucks. Someone with your command of English should not be editing someone else's work.
Thank God there are no more projects for this module after this. I'd never work with her ever again.
Stupid bitch.

[The stars say...]
My horoscope for today:
Getting deeply involved doesn't happen easily for you. It takes an awful lot of introspection for you to feel that you can trust someone with your soul. Well. Ready? It may soon be time to take that chance again.
I don't usually believe in horoscopes, although recently they've been rather spot on for me. But I'm taking this as a sign...

[Getting your point across...]
I download my weekly wrestling fix from this BT tracker...Which requires registration. I was lucky enough to get on board when the user quotas were still low. The owners only wanted a certain amount of people on the tracker, and once the quota was reached, no new users could sign up.
I got this message in my Inbox on the website today:
Invite system is now in place. All power users and higher have 3 invites now. To get invites you need to become a power user. Once you become a power user you will automatically get 3 invites. Please remember to only invite people you trust. If you invite bad people we will know who invited them. Hope you all enjoy the new updates so far and remember to keep watching as more is likely to happen.
The admin really really wanted people to know that you only get 3 invites if you're a power user.

[Welcome to my life...]
Woke up this morning in a foul mood. I haven't been sleeping well for quite some time. In fact, the last time I had such an extended run of insomnia was when I was working at my last job.
My timetable today is the pits...I have a lecture from 10am to 12nn, and my next lecture was from 4pm to 6pm. Yup, a 4 hour break. Anyway, when I reached the LT for my morning lecture, I realised that the LT was exceptionally cold. Usually this LT's temperature was about right...Today it was freezing. Before the end of the lecture, I've caught a cold and was sniffing away. We balloted for our project topic at the end of the lecture. My friends and I were joking how it would suck if we were the last group to be drawn. And as fate would have it, we were! Out of 43 groups, we were the last ones to be drawn. Luckily the last topic left was not too difficult (according to my friend).
After the lecture, I went down to the library to borrow the "additional" textbook for my morning's lecture. It was a reference book, and I could only borrow the book for 2 hours. I've never borrowed RBR books before, and totally screwed up the procedure. Good thing the librarians were nice enough to tell me how it's supposed to be done. After I got my book, I went to the photocopy room to copy the chapters I needed. I couldn't figure out how to "shrink" the page, and wasted the first few pages. Good thing the photocopy lady came over and helped me with the settings. My nose by this time was dripping like a leaking tap. I don't know what is it about the photocopy room, but I always get hyper-sensitive there. If I wear contact lens, my eyes would turn red in no time. Even if I wasn't nursing a cold, my nose would also start acting up. Copying the chapters I needed turned into an act of manual dexterity...Flip page, press COPY, wipe nose and repeat.
After I was done, I returned the book and headed to the History department to hand up my GEM essay. After which, I took a bus back to SOC. I had originally planned to head down to Sim Lim after my morning lecture to buy a mouse. But between photocopying the book and handing up my essay, I've already used up one and a half hours. And I haven't had lunch yet! I bought some finger-food and headed out to take the bus down to Sim Lim.
I had to get a new mouse as my old one starting to break down. When I needed to drag & drop, the mouse would drop before I released the left button. When I reached Sim Lim, I couldn't find the mouse I wanted in the shop I usually bought my stuff from. Went to Skylet, and found lots of them on sale. I had wanted to buy the Logitech MX310, but was almost tempted to get the MX510. $30 more for 2 more shortcut buttons....Mmmm...I ended up buying the MX310, the one I originally had in mind.
I took a bus back to NUS, and reached with just enough time to go print the notes for my 4pm lecture and went to attend the lecture. It was my most dreaded module, Intro to Computer Security. Today the lecturer talked about some sort of encryption and how the human mind can predict the information without it being all there. He flashed this on the screen, and asked us if we could guess what it was:
"XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX XX XXXXXXXXX"
He used this as an exam question a few years back, and 90% of the students managed to get it right. No one in the LT said anything for a while, and I figured out what it was. My friends urged me to shout it out, and I did. And I was right! Haha! You guys can guess if you want, I'll provide the answer in my next entry. It's not that hard, to be honest. It's actually quite a giveaway...
After the lecture I took a shuttle bus to the Engineering department to take 96 to Clementi. I do this now whenever my day ends at 6pm (my regular bus is so full it doesn't stop after 6pm), instead of taking a bus to Clementi Stadium and then walk to take 184. Taking 96 takes a tad more time, but it's less tiring. At Clementi, I saw Dr. Chee Soon Juan! I didn't realise it was him until I was close enough to reach out and touch him...Otherwise I would have taken a picture of him. He was there with his SDP comrades, handing out a newspaper of sorts.
Finally made it home at 7pm+. Thank God tomorrow's Friday.
Oh, as some of you might have noticed, there's a Google advert at the top of this section. Help out a poor student, if you see something you're interested in, click it. :)

[The Devil is in my class....]
I just found out that NUS allows students to get a secondary email alias. Our primary email address is that of our student number, followed by @nus.edu.sg.
We're not allowed to "choose" our secondary alias like when we get a free email account at Hotmail....Instead the email server helps us create one using the combinations of our actual names.
Scrolling through the class roster to see if anyone else's gotten an alias as well, I came across this:
I'm not shittin' you...That's really what it says. This fella's name actually did manage to form "satan". His/Her/It's name is Tan S* A*.
Pretty cool if you ask me....

[To sleep, perchance to dream...]
So tired during lecture. Dozing off during tutorial. Falling asleep on the bus.
Reached home, lying on bed.......
Wide awake.

[Tonight, when the stars themselves will hide...]
My horoscope for today:
You're as close to being a human transmitter as possible. You really do have antennae and they really are quite powerful. So when that voice at the back of your head speaks, don't ignore it. Even the stars are against me.

[Decisions, decisions....]
When did life get ever so complicated?
Face the facts and get it over with.
Or hold out and hope for the best? Or simply put off the inevitable?
When will my day finally come? God knows I've waited long enough...
