[The meaning of life...]
Yes, it's officially Saturday. But in my head, it's still Friday night. Learnt an important lesson today, but let's start at the beginning...
This morning I sprayed hair-spray into my eye. Ouch...That really stung. I won't go into the details of how it happened, but my eye did turn really red. Good thing I wasn't wearing my contacts at the time. By the time I reached school, the redness was gone and my eye was as good as new.
The project today was a nightmare. While we did solve one "big" problem (which in retrospect was not *that* big), roadblocks keep popping up throughout the day. By the end of the day, I was tired, agaited, and somewhat pissed (although that's regarding a whole other issue).
So I dragged my weary ass home from school at about 9pm. Reached home at 9:30+, and that's when it happened.
I realised that family was the only thing that mattered. I've always knew that, but this evening I had a reminder. Some people are friends with you only because of what you can do for them. But family is where you can find people who would accept you for who you were, no strings attached. No family is perfect, and neither is mine. But heck, if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing (mainly because I really *can't* do it all over again).
In the words of Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino) from The Godfather, "Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever."
