[What the ****....]
The Armour Road Relay was held in my unit this year, this year being the last chance for Keat Hong camp to host it since we're moving in August.
Yesterday was the preparation, and today the actual race. Yesterday, they actually had the whole lot of us to simulate the runners coming into the finish line, so they can "practice taking their timings".
What the fuck!? Talk about being incompetent...

[Keep on rolling...]
Boring week. Nothing to do at all, with most of the company at AAP rehearsals. I'm glad I'm not involved, it's really tough. Took off for tomorrow, and then a LWE for Saturday.
Over and out.

[Yes!!]
RT cancelled at the last minute! Whoo hoo!
Shortly after I received the message, a friend called to tell me he'd already hopped into a cab when he got the message. He asked the driver to turn around and go back, and the fare was $3.10. LOL.

[That was hard...]
Back from the "personality test" at IDA. Was more like brain teaser/SAT than personality. Was pretty hard, I probably didn't do very well.
Saw a guy from my course. Don't know his name, just his face. Don't know why I'm mentioning it....
Ok, sometime gross. Went to eat at this deserted food court after the test, and there's this father and his very young son. The son needed to pee, and his father took out a water bottle, pulled down his son's shorts, and prompting let him piss into the bottle. There goes my appetite..... *vomit*

[What a week...]
Monday. Rehearsed for the opening parade for Ex Maju Bersama.
Tuesday. Actual parade. Some genius decided that it was appropriate to have the parade at 10:30am. The sun was scrotching hot...As was Monday. Received a call in the evening from IDA, asking me to go for a test tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I'd make it to the next round of selections. Then, CSM gathered a bunch of us into his office, and asked if we wanted to become 3rd Sergeants. I said yes, and I'm so regretting it now. The last 6 months of my service, I can spend it lazing around, but no.....If I were to go for AISL, I'd be a trainee. Kinda like BMT all over again. I'm not looking forward to that. Last I heard, the chances of me being selected is pretty high... :(
Wednesday. Live firing exercise rehearsal. In the SAF, we rehearse everything. So when war comes, I'm pretty sure we'd be asking our enemies to rehearse before the actual battle. :) Anyway, it was an extremely hot day, and I did not stop sweating throughout. Almost got heat exhaustion when I fell asleep under the sun for 2 hours....
Thursday. Actual live firing. By now, everyone's just bored and want to go home. Cpt Eric came back at night to give me my testimonial. Did I mention I was Best Soldier for the month of March? :D Anyway, talked about our possible move to AISL which he is now the course commander of. He said he's worried that my "strong character" would cause problems there. Oh yeah...I'm sure gonna cause some problems alright... *big wide evil grin*
Friday. Supposed to take half day off, but SOC training in the afternoon threw that out the window. Then, a CO interview threw SOC training out the window for me. The others as well actually, since it was CAT 1 and training could not continue. In the end, had to forgo the half day and make do with a long weekend instead. I can't believe I didn't complain to CO about RT on Sundays. That was my big chance, and I blew it. It was a crappy interview anyway...Only 5 minutes and it was hard, since CO knows nothing about me. I'm now in running for Best Soldier of the Battalion, and all I've got to my name is a lousy, no-good 5 minute interview. :P
This has been one hell of a week. Because of the very hot weather we've been having, most of us are suffering from some sort of heat rash or sunburn now. I've a sunburnt back (which I don't understand why), heat rashes on my back, elbows, knees and ankles.
To top it all off...One of my guppies got dropsy and died. :(

[The worst feeling in the world...]
...is going back to camp for RT on a Sunday afternoon.
A fucked-up organisation with fucked-up rules and fucked-up ways.

[Ups and downs...]
...well, mostly downs.
The run today was not too bad, except towards the end, kids from Springfield Sec actually ran pass me! I was out of steam by then, of course.
After the run, an announcement was made. RT for 2nd year SOC failures start tomorrow. I can't describe the feeling, but my whole world felt like it was crashing down. We had to be at the parade square at 3:30pm, which basically means that my Sunday was screwed. That was *not* the news I needed to hear after running my lungs out just a little while ago.
Head down to TP for brunch with 2 friends. That was when the message arrived on my handphone. RT for tomorrow has been cancelled.
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
Yes, a moment of relief. But in the back of my mind, the message is clear. The next RT, I'd have to attend, unless I pass my SOC real soon.
They could have just as easily scheduled the extra training on weekdays. That'd be good for everyone; the people who failed, the conducting officer/specs, everyone. But no.....They choose to do the fucked-up route and conduct it on Sunday.
Life in SAF sucks.

[Crap and double crap...]
My Overnet speed has gone to hell again. :(
Battalion run again tomorrow, at Bedok reservoir. Damn irritating place. The running route is full of pebbles, and they get inside your shoes. Aragh...
Tetra breeding plan's a failure. To be expected, I guess. Kinda disappointed. The female tetra's so big now that she can't even swim properly.

[Let my body hit the floor...]
Been having giddy spells the whole day. What fun it's gonna be tomorrow morning if my body really hits the floor during the parade.
One of my female tetras' really swollen. With eggs, that is. Gonna try to see if I can get her to reproduce. It's very hard to get tetras to breed, so fingers crossed.

[Here comes the pain...]
Whole company's on off today. A reward for our efforts on Tekong. Personally, I've been on off on Thursday for 3 weeks running now.
Had survivor-style battalion competition yesterday. Now my body aches all over.
Helped my friend pack his duffel bag yesterday. Don't think he'd be coming back. Such a silly thing to do, glue sniffing when he's 2 months away from his pink IC.
