[End of a chapter...] One year ago today, this blog was born. Since then, it has gone through 2 revamps, this being the 3rd design I've used. The first one was a generic one provided by BlogSpot, second one was modified from a blog skin, and now I'm proud to say that I came up with the third one myself. Most of it, anyway. The biggest news for me this year has got to be the 2 months reduction in National Service. I ORDed on October 12th instead of December 12th. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when the news came out. This year ends on a sad note, due to the tidal waves that killed tens of thousands of people in Asia. I'm not one for sentiment...So I guess....Shit happens? ^^^ by Locksley @ 1:40 PM.

[Sharp turns and fast rides...] So I made the switch over to E-Commerce stream yesterday. To be honest, of all 4 Honours that one can do in SoC, the one I least wanted to do was E-Commerce. It's just weird...I mean, who's heard of a E-Commerce degree nowadays? It's so....Last year. Even 2, 3 years ago. A better name for this stream would be BizIT. Anyhow, there are no maths modules at all in this stream, and I think it would be better for me. I can still jump over to do IS if I change my mind, as I can't get a jump on the maths modules yet anyway. ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:35 AM.

[Heat issues...] The fan on my NorthBridge died. How long ago, I have no idea. I found out about it only when I installed my HD coolers a few day back. Did not have time to buy one until today. Went hunting all over Sim Lim Tower for the right size fan with the right connector, to no avail. In the end, I just bought one with the right size and wrong connector. I figured I could pull off the connector on the old fan and transfer it to the new one. No mean feat when I do not have a crimper and have to use a pair of tweezers to do the job. Luckily it worked.... Woke up with a cold this morning. Not too serious, but still sniffing. I hate flu/cold/fever.....Actually I hate all forms of illnesses. Make me feel tired and well...More tired. ^^^ by Locksley @ 6:10 PM.

[Headaches and more headaches...] Module bidding begins in a few days. I'm not too sure what to take. And being Poly graduates, most of us have to delcare our majors as well. Not too big a problem, as we can still change it later, but a headache all the same when you're still new and have no idea what the hell's going on. There were 10 of us matriculating in Jan 05. There are 4 majors. There are no fixed classes (or classmates), so the usual practice is for friends who're taking the same major to choose the same lectures and tutorials. Chances are, the 10 of us will always be "different" from the others who matriculate in August, so it's hard to form a group of friends and to remain in one. That would be a problem when it comes to project time. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:41 PM.

[Last one standing...] Saw people playing softball there *again*. Seems like those people do nothing but play softball. As far as I can see, I don't think there's enough people there on the field to form a team though. The noisy dog upstairs has been rather quiet lately. Maybe the owners slipped it some Valium or something. Heh heh heh... ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:56 AM.

[No fuckin' peace....] Some people should be allowed to sing. Those old foggies belong in that category. They sound like animals wailing. ^^^ by Locksley @ 6:11 PM.

[%#$%@#!!^@^@!#$@^*%&^%$] Take this morning, for example. I didn't plan on getting up so early, considering how late I slept last night. But this god-damned karang guni man kept blowing his fucking horn and I couldn't go back to sleep. Would love to get a sniper rifle and shoot his balls off. ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:44 AM.

[Noisy animals...] Got a letter from CPF today, asking me if I'd like to take up MediShield. I was supposed to mail back the declaration form, telling them that I'm of sound mind and body, blah blah. The usual. I lost quite a lot of confidence in our government when I realised the declaration form could not fit into the envelope provided. I mean, seriously, what the fuck, right? The least you guys could have ensured was that the form could fit into the envelope provided by yourselves. Got a copy of Pionner in the mail today, the SAF's way of letting everyone know how they wayang. On the mailer, it says that the subscription is taken out of my service pay. Huh? What service pay? They better not be taking my civilian money for the subscription to their wayang magazine. Which reminds me...There is no way to unsubscribe from it. At least not listed on the mailer or in the magazine. What a surprise....Everyone would unsubscribe if given the choice. On a side note, I flipped through the magazine, and there's this article about some fellas who extended their NS cycles. Get a clue, you dumb fucks.....The whole country's making fun of you, the sane ones are, at least. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:10 PM.

[Down memory lane...] It wasn't too hard finding the place I needed to go to for the checkup. Problem was, their X-ray wasn't working, and I had to go down to SATA at Jurong. That place was a lot trickier to find. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:52 PM.

[Crazy people...] First nutcase was encountered on our way there. I was with my sister, and this woman who was walking towards us just stopped in her tracks, put her hands on her hips and stared at us. At first, she was staring at my sister, during which my eyes were already locked onto her. She then transferred her stare to me, and I held her stare until we passed. After we were about 50 metres away, I turned back, and she was still staring at us! What the fuck man.... Second nut. Ok, not so much a nut in this case, but it's still worth a mention. Was in Popular, queuing up to pay when a woman sort of "cut" the queue and asked if she could exchange an assessment book you bought on the 28th of last month because the corners were folded. Give me a break....I mean, what's the big deal? First of all, what condition do you think the book would be in if your child was actually able to finish doing every question in it? Mint condition? Not to mention the fact that you should have checked when you paid. If I were the manager, I'd told her to take the book and stick it up where the sun don't shine. Lucky for me, I'm not the manager. Third nut. Ok, she's not so much a nut in this case neither. More unpleasant than a nutcase. We took a bus back, and on the seats near the driver, the ones that face each other, this woman put her feet up on the seat she was facing, in the groin area of her husband/boyfriend/fellow freak. Guess what's the worst part? He was rubbing her feet! That is just gross..... And it so happens that all the 3 people I've described are middle-aged women. The "auntie" generation. I honestly don't think it's a good idea for people like them to reproduce. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:17 PM.

[Holy shit...] But, try as I might, I've never seen more than 3 at a time. I kept searching for the elusive one, but I just couldn't find it. Then it occured to me....What're the chances that when I poured the new otos into the tank, that one grabbed onto the plastic bag and stayed in the bag? I looked through my trash, and there it was. The missing oto. That's not the most shocking part. The most shocking part was, it was still alive. Jumping around in the now-dry-save-for-some-water-droplets plastic bag. I immediately transferred it into the tank. Looks alright so far....Hope it lives on. That's about 9 hours it's been out of the water. Talk about the will to live. ^^^ by Locksley @ 1:16 AM.

[To each his own...] As I boarded the bus on my way back, the guy in front of me asked the driver if she knew whether the bus passed by Maju Camp or not. One look at the guy, and I knew he was taking his yearly IPPT. Felt kind of down after that. You can ORD and get your IC back, but you can never really leave the SAF. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:08 PM.

[Staring at the sun...] Headed down to Clementi after our swim, and went to the aquarium shop after lunch. Was very tempted to buy a gravel vaccum....So I can put the gravel back into my tank. My tank currently don't have any gravel for easy maintenance. Thought about it for a while, but decided against it as the vaccum would be hard to work with, since I have a breeder's tank inside my big tank. James told me about the things that are going on in camp, and boy...Was I glad I've ORDed. Phew...All sorts of nonsense going on in there. Bought 6 black neon tetras yesterday, and 2 more corydoras. Fish tank's overcrowded now....And will be more so when the fries mature. ^^^ by Locksley @ 3:36 PM.

[It's a brand new day...] Let's see...What am I going to do with myself till I start school? I have no idea....Have some plans, but I don't think I'll discuss them here. Heh... Going to the bank later to deposit my transport-claim cheque. Maybe I'll stop by the aquarium shop. Ahhh.....Freedom. :) ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:12 AM.
