[Bloody busy week...] I spent about six hours working today and accomplished very little. Mainly because one of the things I was working on was something completely new and there was so much information to look through. And I can't print the documents out. Aragh... I'm on course tomorrow and Tuesday. That's usually a good thing, cause courses are really a chance for us to relax. But if I had a choice, I would rather be back in office. Too much work, and I would need to do it eventually anyway. Coupled with a farewell lunch on Thursday, I would actually spend very little time in office in the upcoming week. The thing I talked about in my previous post....I saw one of them online right now. Said person has one of those messages, followed by a "click me". Moron. We can't click on links in MSN personal messages, so it doesn't make sense (as it is) to put a long link there for people to follow. It makes even less sense when the URL itself isn't written in the personal message but instead a "click me" is used. Unless, of course, the new version of MSN allows clicking of links in personal messages. Then I would be here with egg on my face. ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:41 PM.

[You're fucked...] We all know the state of the economy right now. I have several of those acquaintances on my MSN and they are still putting up financial advice/news/suggestions on their MSN. Like it mattered. Like anyone cares. You guys are fucked. You've made your money. Now it's time to get out. Get a real job. Your reputations right now are worse than those of lawyers. Get out now, while you still can. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:39 PM.

[The chronicles of Locksley...] One word to describe the IT security measures at my workplace: Retarded. Two words to describe the IT security measures in the future: Fucking retarded. I know what's coming. I know who's pushing for it. I know who's in charge. This guy needs to go back to school. This guy needs to buy a car, for fuck's sake. My vision is fluctuating like crazy. Earlier this week, I had no trouble with reading or using the computer. For the past two days, it was blurry in the morning, up until sometime in the afternoon. Words at a distance are still blurry for me. I'm talking about maybe...2 metres away? It's hard to see the bus numbers, impossible to read road signs (until I'm close to them and by then it's usually too late...good thing I don't drive...yet), but everything else is okay. Just a little blurry. In fact, things are a little blurry now as I type this... Dry eyes are less of an issue now. I think I bought too many bottles of eye-drops. ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:35 PM.

[I can see clearly now, the rain is gone...] I first learnt about Lasik when I was in secondary school. Or was it poly? I can't remember, but it was around that time. Having worn glasses since I was six, I couldn't wait to be able to go for it. Anyway, at that time, the technology they had could not completely correct my vision problems. Times have changed. Technology has caught up, and I now have the financial means to go for the surgery. Last Saturday, I went for an evaluation test. I was suitable for Lasik, but had to pick the most expensive package. I wasn't surprised, with the research I did, I roughly guessed the treatment that I had to undergo due to my high degrees (especially for astigmatism). I was also told that my degrees put me in the top 1% of the population. I had the procedure performed yesterday. It was fast. And I could see better immediately after surgery. I won't go into all the boring details, but here I am, without glasses or contact lens, typing this. Oh, the freedom! I've been wearing glasses for almost 21 years, and contacts for about 11 years. This is quite an adjustment. And I was surprised to find that the white parts of my eyes are actually clearer now than before. Before surgery, whether or not I wore glasses, my eyes were always a little red. Pink, at best. Now most of the bloodshot eye vessels are gone. My vision isn't perfect yet. I can see clearly the things around me, but objects at a distance are still blurry. It's supposed to get better over time, so I guess I have to be patient. I was told that due to my insanely high astigmatism, I would take twice as long as other people (without astigmatism) to regain my full vision. Fingers crossed. ^^^ by Locksley @ 8:12 PM.
