[New phone!] None of the non-camera phones Nokia had on the market could sync with the 6500s, so there wasn't much I could do. Then, Nokia announced the 2323 classic, running on the same software as the 6500s, non-camera, and comes with bluetooth (need this for the sync function to work). I kept close tabs on this phone and waited for it to be released in Singapore. Just before it was due to be released, it disappeared from the "coming soon" section of Nokia's Singapore website. It wasn't going to be released here. I was very disappointed. ![]() Then, as luck would have it, I chanced across someone selling it for $75 on eBay Singapore. I bought the phone and it arrived today. The software in the 2323 classic is actually a little different from the 6500s. Some of the features have been stripped out. It's actually a "Lite" version of the same software. But that's okay, it's not my primary phone anyway. Syncing worked for the most part. There is a bug with the way they sync-ed the SMS and MMS messages, so I chose not to sync them. Other than that, contacts and calendar/organiser info sync-ed beautifully. Finally...No more wondering if there would be a clash in my personal and work calendar/schedule. I was actually contemplating switching to Windows Mobile phones to get around this problem. Now I don't have to. ^^^ by Locksley @ 12:04 AM.

[Where did you get this number?] Why do I say that? Before I go into it, some background. I'm using a multi-SIM service. This means I have two SIM cards, but one number. One SIM card will be set as Phone1, the other as Phone2. They can be switched around by entering a service command. Outgoing calls and SMSes can work on both phones. Incoming SMSes will only be received by Phone1. If Phone1 is switched off and Phone2 is on, the SMS will still not be received, until the code is entered to switch Phone2 over as Phone1. For incoming calls, Phone1 will ring for 20 seconds and if unanswered, Phone2 will start ringing. If Phone1 is switched off, Phone2 will ring immediately. I hope that's not too confusing. So anyway, I've experienced several instances whereby I switch on my Phone2 and received an SMS immediately on it, before I had a chance to enter the service command to switch it over as Phone1. This should not happen. Whenever this has happened, the SMS received is always a spam message. So it occurred to me that maybe instead of sending the SMS to my phone number (which would have resulted in me receiving the message on my Phone1, not on my Phone2 when I switch it on), maybe they have some way of specifying which SIM card they want to send the SMS to. Just now during dinner, something impossible happened. Both my phones were switched on. I received a call from a telemarketer...On Phone2. This absolutely should not happen. Since both phones are on, Phone1 should have gotten the incoming call. After hanging up on the telemarketer, I tried calling myself with my land line and Phone1 rang. So there's nothing wrong with the system. I don't know how these telemarketers are contacting us, but it might not be via our phone numbers. Might have something to do with our SIM cards. That's my theory anyway. Does anyone know more about this than I do? Please share. ^^^ by Locksley @ 8:54 PM.

[Have you seen my bag?] ![]() Am I the only one who thinks that this is weird? This is worse than those little clip-on pouches that were popular for a while in the past. How can any guy have so many things to carry around when he goes out to warrant a bag like this? It looks as if he stole the bag from his girlfriend/sister/mother or something. ^^^ by Locksley @ 5:45 PM.

[Mood today...] Irritated, because I had to clean up the new girl's mess. Curious, because this colleague whom I didn't like asked us out for lunch. Tired, because lunch makes me sleepy. Moody, because I left work late. Surprised, because I saw a friend on the MRT. Puzzled, because she thought I was working in HR. Pissed, because MINDEF called. More pissed, because I cancelled the earlier call to my mobile and MINDEF called my home phone instead and I had to listen to my parents talk for 10 minutes about what happened. It's just an automated phone call. Get with it. Even more pissed, because I thought it was the call-up for next year's ICT which I knew was coming. Relieved, because it's just Ops Manning. Worried, because it's for two weeks instead of one. For those of you who thought I'm working in HR...I'm not. Nothing wrong with HR, but I think it's a weird industry for a guy to be in. ^^^ by Locksley @ 10:40 PM.

[I feel bad....] At the meeting today, the new supervisor was obviously lost and was simply doing what I asked him to do (I told him what needed to be done before we went). The Directors got confused and things took a sharp left turn. I had to jump in to savage the situation. I didn't like showing up the new guy, but it had to be done. Managed to get the Directors to agree to two out of the three outstanding items, which was good. Kinda weird to be playing for both teams. I need to watch my step. ^^^ by Locksley @ 8:40 PM.

[Back to the future...] I had a talk with my Director this evening. Sorted out some outstanding matters and while I won't know what will happen when the dust finally settles, at least things are a little clearer. It is unlikely that I would end up at the department I didn't want to go to, so that's a plus. The guys from another department which I expressed interest in possibly moving to loved me after speaking with me the other time, so that's a plus. But I don't feel like I'm ready to go there...yet. All in all, it's been a good day. A step in the right direction. While things are still up in the air, there seems to be some direction as to where they are likely to head. I don't know how I do it. To be so close to something I will never be able to have, and to continue getting closer. Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through this torture. I know what I'm doing is unhealthy, but I still keep doing it. It's like how people keep smoking even though that it's bad for them. What if. I wonder. By the way, karma's a bitch. ^^^ by Locksley @ 10:54 PM.

[Blowing chunks...] I've never seen anyone shit themselves or throw up. Actually, scratch the last part. I have seen someone throw up in the ring. This past week on Impact!, Creed threw up in the middle of a match. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gross. ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:30 PM.

[Tremors!!] Cool. I mean, I'm sorry that people died and lost their homes and everything, but this was my first real tremor experience. The other time didn't count because I was sleeping and didn't feel a thing. Although I did see the water in my fish tank splashing like crazy. ^^^ by Locksley @ 8:47 PM.
