[Another week...] Got my XBox from SCV. Yeah baby!! :) Of course, I know nothing about it. Need to modify it, get another controller, and figure out how to burn DVDs downloaded from the Net. 2 of my tetras died. :( I'm trying to get my guppies to mate. Hope that goes well...Then I'd never have to buy guppies ever again. ^^^ by Locksley @ 4:33 PM.

[Lunar New Year!] Today's my sister's birthday, on the first day of the Lunar New Year too. She's had one on the eve, and another on the second day. Finally on the dot this year. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:31 AM.

[My eye!! My eye!!!] Good news. My company is slated to book out at 3pm today. But I've been there long enough to know that it'd probably be much later. But hey...If I'm blogging...Means I must be out already, right? Yes, that's the good news. Here's the bad news. I got an off pass to book out earlier to see my doctor. When I woke up this morning, my right upper eyelid was so swollen that you can't really see my right eye anymore. To be honest, I wouldn't be too worried about it (I get like this when I'm heaty), except that tomorrow's the first day of the Lunar New Year! Aragh!!!!! How to visit relatives when I've got only 1 eye? And some worse news...I need to go back to camp for duty on Friday. Sucks...Considering that I was also on duty on the 2nd day of the New Year last year. What're the odds? :( ^^^ by Locksley @ 11:14 AM.

[So tired I couldn't even sleep...So many secrets I couldn't keep...] Went for river crossing yesterday. What an experience. We did it a total of 3 times. First time, platoon level. For platoon level, I was part of the rope party, meaning there was no rope for me to cross with. Me and two other people had to swim across the river by ourselves and set up the rope on the other side. Not too bad...I was the first to reach. :) Anyhow, we did it two more times company level, once in the day and once at night. Had a turnout by the GSI people on Thursday. And to prepare us for that, we had one by our CO on Tuesday. We did quite badly, no sense of urgency and all that bullshit. The officers noticed that we were very low and morale, and in the afternoon, the platoon commanders picked a few of the more "influential" people in the platoon to have a heart-to-heart with all the officers. I was among the ones selected. Nice to know that they think I'm "influential" enough. Later that night, our Encik had a similar session with a representative from each section. Once again, I was nominated. Most of us were unhappy with some of the decisions he's made recently, and he called us in to tell us the rationale behind the decisions he made. I was actually very angry before going in, seeing how he made us clean arms all day and then asked for a stand-by bed at 9pm. But after hearing him out, I did cool down a lot, as most of what he said made sense. Then again, he's been described as someone who has "a thousand and one reasons for the things he to". Mmmm....On a side note, I was picked for both "peace talks". I wonder if that's a good thing. We got a "high recon 1" for our actual turnout on Thursday. Made Encik happy, of course. Me...I was in the ammo party. Getting the ammo from the ammo dump was quite uneventful, except for me meeting a friend from BMT at the ammo dump. He's now a sergeant in 21SA. Looked different from last time. Returning the ammo when the turnout was over was less fun. I'm on the first tonner, and we got there at like...5pm. And from 5pm to 7pm, the tonner cannot get on the roads, due to rush hour. So the other tonners cannot leave camp to go to the ammo dump, and I was stuck at the ammo dump with my sergeant. And to top it all off, when they finally took off at 7pm, one of the tonners broke down! But the good news is, my buddy actually packed and prepared my field pack for me before I got back, so I was able to jump into bed and sleep before the other people who were also in the ammo party. Final note...Got promoted to corporal on Tuesday. Yay me...I guess. ^^^ by Locksley @ 9:20 PM.

[Chinese New Year...Jan 22nd. It seems so far away...] First up, we're taking over 4NTM duty tomorrow. That's a drag. And because this time, we're going to be turned out by external parties, there would be at least 2 rehearsals. Maybe I can get out of it, because I'm in the ammo party. We'll see. Next up...River crossing on Friday. We have to cross the damn thing 3 times. Once for practice, second time for real, and the last time at night. From what I've heard, the water doesn't smell too good. Looks like neither will we by the time we finish the night crossing. Finally, our "lovable" OC wants a full stand-by bed before CNY. This means lots of "practice" before then. That sucks cause our cupboards are too small, and it's impossible to live using the stand-by model. Back on Tekong, it could be done, no problem. But not with the cupboards we have now in my current camp. Damn our OC...He told us that he wants us he ORD happily...And yet told my PC that he's treating us too nicely. WTF!? Talk about a two-headed snake-in-the-grass. Well...That's my opinion. And I'm sticking to it! To top it all off...My fishes aren't doing too well. The tetras seem to be ok now...I've got 12 of them. But 4 guppies died this morning. What am I doing wrong, for heaven's sake? ^^^ by Locksley @ 1:23 PM.

[Cause life's just a little fucked up....] After we booked out on Thurs, our Encik found a bag of rubbish outside our bunk, and because of that, we have to book in at 6pm on Sunday. That's weird, cause we had a stay-by bed just 1 hour before booking out. No way in hell could there be a bag of rubbish lying around. But what can we say? He did find the rubbish outside our bunk. He could have been nicer about it...But he didn't. Fuck this life. I want to ORD!!!! ^^^ by Locksley @ 8:46 AM.

[Guess who's back...Back again...] Next week's gonna be a long week. We'd be taking over 4NTM duty again, and are scheduled for 3 turnouts. One of which is gonna be done by external parties. Not looking forward to that. To top it off, we're going for river crossing on Friday. No one looks forward to river crossing. Unless you're a fish of some sort. ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:02 PM.

[They don't need us, they need robots...] Life in the military sucks. No one really cares about you. The people upstairs push us, the ones at the bottom of the organization table, very hard so that the unit can look good and win awards. But in the end, we don't get to enjoy the fruits of our labour. If anything, more privilege (in the civilized world, called God-given rights) were taken away from us. Motherfuckers. ^^^ by Locksley @ 8:36 PM.

[Book-in day...] My fishes are doing well I guess. One of the guppies I bought yesterday got sick, and I had to flush it down the toilet this morning. That's life for ya. Probably won't get to blog again till Sat. Till then...Peace out! ^^^ by Locksley @ 7:27 PM.
