[Funny how life turns out...]
I started wearing glasses at a young age. I think I was six when I got my first pair. My parents, being typical Asian parents, used that as a catalyst to get me to try and work harder at school.
They would say things along the lines of how I would not be suitable for manual jobs next time as the glasses would keep sliding off.
Faster forward to today. I am no longer wearing glasses. I certainly cannot do manual jobs, not because of my glasses since I no longer need them, but because of my back injuries.
Isn't it funny how life turns out?
