[More idiots...]

Yesterday I took a picture of a guy who stopped halfway in the pedestrian crossing. Today, someone did one better.

This happened at Bukit Batok. The traffic light for the vehicles was red, you can see it for the vehicles in the other direction. The green man was lit as well. It must have been flashing at this point, since it wasn't captured in the picture. So yes, pedestrians have the right of way.

Instead of stopping behind the line, this joker stopped his van right smack in the middle of the pedestrian crossing. Yup, he did one better than the guy yesterday. I immediately took out my phone to take a picture of him (good blog material, no?) and when I was done I was actually rather close to the driver (I was walking while waiting for my phone to save the picture). I noticed he was glaring at me. I didn't think much of it at the time. Whatever.

It was only when I uploaded the picture to my computer that I realised that...He seems to be giving me the finger.

What do you guys think? You can click on the picture to see a full-sized version. I didn't scale this one down, unlike the rest.

Moving on. Why do parents think it's okay for their kids to do this on the bus?

They dirty the window seat with their shoes and may fall off and get injured if the driver had to brake suddenly. Not to mention the fact that there were not enough seats and people were standing around.

That's the kid's mother.

These guys were doing nothing worth mentioning. I just thought he looked like a fashion disaster. I would never wear a shirt like that. Then again, that's just me.

that actually happened to me on a few occassions. hit the breaks but it wont stop in time,, :p
:X

But do you reverse if there are no cars behind you? Both the van and car didn't and there weren't any vehicles behind them.

I don't know...Maybe once I start driving, my views will change. But from the viewpoint of the guy crossing the road...WTF?
actually better not risk.. some guy might come out of nowhere and slam u in the back. As long as you are not blocking the flow of traffic i guess it's ok..
i've seen funnier where the drivers were turning right but there was no green arrow so when everything turned red, the driver instead of quickly driving off, decides to stop right smack in the traffic junction.
seems like the middle finger to me. but then again. he looked damn uncle... dont think he'd be so aggressive
driving here is like survival of the fittest. Ive learnt not to be too nice on the road cos you get road rage if the niceness is not returned..

the weirdest was when a lorry decided to go straight instead of turning at a left turn ONLY lane!! And hit my car! WAs an ah pek.. who was remorseful and paid for all the damages.
actually tht guy.. the bottom half is more of a fashion disaster. The shirt is ok if paired with beige coloured pants and dark brown shoes. WEaring black tapered pants and shoes like that, unforgivable.
I dont think its a middle finger. Its more of a funny trend while drivers drive when their window is unwind. Some relax drivers(or shd I use lazy) like to rest their hand(not holding the wheel) while waiting for the traffic light. The left hand usually on the gear handle while the other, elbow on the unwind window.

When the elbow is rested there, where could their hands be? I have seen all kinds of pattern, some will be holding their heads(also want to rest the head), some rest the whole arm on the unwind window and left the hand dangling inwards or outwards while others place it 90 degree and use their fingers to pat the window ceiling or just place it there. Some use all fingers, some use just one which can be misunderstood if the middle finger is used(like the uncle did).

For me, most of the time, I'll rest my elbow on the unwind window and pat the wheel with my fingers. (Easier to grip the wheel when its time to move. I sometimes do this even while driving...lol)
It does seem like the third finger to me. Well there are weird incidents on the roads everyday, like buses missing their turns
Estan: What you said made sense. Maybe that's all there is to it. I'm not entirely sure what happened...Because while I was crossing, I was busy with taking the picture (trying to frame it and everything) and wasn't paying attention to the driver.
No worries, just to let u know from a driver's perspective. As ur friends mentioned, there are funnier things...lol

Ignore drivers when u think they're glaring at you. They meant no harm. They're just looking coz that's the only other thing they can do besides looking at the traffic light...lol

Drivers whose vehicle is not near the junction or at the side of the road will be looking at the vehicle/drivers/passengers beside them...lol

Anyway, I've started blogging, not as frequent as my previous one though. Here's the link...lol
