[My darting eyes...]

It's been pointed out to me that when people talk to me (in real life), my eyes keep darting around instead of focused on the person's face. Sometimes, instead of darting around, I simply look away or focus on something else and look like I'm talking to air.

Yes, I am aware of it. It actually takes effort on my part for me not to. I'm not sure if I do this to everyone I talk to...Because I know some reasons why I do, and they don't seem to apply to everyone I know.

Anyhow, if you were ever annoyed or offended by this, I apologise. No offense meant, on my part. Everyone has a weird social habit or two, I guess this is mine. I'll try to control this in the future. The thing is, I know that my eyes are looking away/darting about while I'm doing it. I think this happens more in the more "public" places as I tend to be easily distracted. Which is also why it's very difficult for me to study in public.

Darty yes, pervy no! Hahaha!
err.. hmm.. haha. I have a feeling I'm the motivation for this particular blog entry >_<
I dart my eyes too. I believe I'm trying to give the other person a clue that I'm scanning many thoughts while searching for the right words to say. Close friends know it's just a qwerk. At best, it makes me appear nervous. At worst, it may interpreted, subconsciously or consciously, as a sign of dishonesty. You mention distraction. I've recently been diagnosed with ADHD. (More AD than HD). I'm not the typical hyperactive type, I'm often quiet, thoughtful and reserved. However, if I'm required to be more vocal at a social function, interview or at work, I'm a bit anxious about blurting out something that might make me sound less intelligent or more rude than I really am. I don't mean to suggest that have the same condition... just sharing my own hard-won enlightenment.
