[World-class...]

Took this picture today on the bus.

It's a baby cockroach. That's our "world-class transport system" for you. The fares keep raising, and more "passengers" are catered for. The thing about baby cockroaches is...That there is a Mama cockroach, and probably a Daddy cockroach. If that's not bad enough, there's still junior's siblings.

Finished my last paper for this semester today. Whoo hoo! Time to unwind and get some R&R in before the next semester starts in about a month's time.

hi, got here thru a fren...its way better and cheaper than uk buses. so don't complain too much =)
cockroaches in bus? there are another kind of pest our public transport... litterBUGS.

Come to think of it, litterbugs bred cockroaches by eating food and "leaving behind" food scrapes.

litter should belong in trash bins. so do litterbugs
To be perfectly honest, the occasional cockroach, ants, etc, on the bus doesn't really get me down. I understand, it happens. Personally, my biggest gripe about public buses is how certain bus routes never get an increase in frequency even though the current supply obviously does not meet demand.

As for comparing buses in Singapore with the standard of those in other countries, I feel that it's not an entirely fair comparison. In most countries, it's not that expensive to own a car, and most people do. People who take public transport are usually the minority. In Singapore, it's the other way round. People depend on them to get them to work on time, etc. More often than not, they do not fix the present problems, yet keep increasing the fares (even though they are making huge profits every year). Public transport should exist to serve the public, not to make an obscene amount in profits.

The person who first said that the public transport system in Singapore is "world-class" probably never uses it on a regular basis, if you catch my drift.
