The wire is a power line. Voice transmission could still be wireless. In the worst case scenario, you would save a data/voice line. In most cases, the distance from the device to the nearest power source constitutes a small of fraction of the total length between device and base.

Broken for now. :( If anyone knows of a good way to display tweets without using Twitter's awful looking widgets, please let me know. Preferably something that allows me to retrieve my tweets in plain-text format.
